Project description:

Are you passionate about technology? So are we!
To strengthen our team of experts at our client in the defense industry, we are seeking a Senior Electronics Developer - Power Electronics (m/f/x) for a permanent position at K-tronik.
We look forward to getting to know you in person—and to working together with passion and team spirit on exciting projects and cutting-edge technologies.

Tasks:

  • You will analyze existing devices, interfaces, and obsolescence drivers, and use this analysis to develop sustainable concepts for the further development and modernization of existing systems
  • Based on system requirements, you will design and size converter stages, control loops, analog interfaces, filters, magnetic components, and protection functions
  • You will select suitable components, taking into account performance, derating, reliability, lifecycle, availability, and supply security
  • Working closely with the PCB layout, mechanical engineering, cable development, system development, and test engineering departments, you will coordinate technical decisions and ensure their successful implementation
  • To validate your development decisions, you will prepare calculations, simulations, schematics, design specifications, and technical justifications for formal reviews
  • You will oversee prototypes from initial commissioning through technical failure analysis and conduct thorough root cause investigations
  • In addition, you will support qualification planning, technical risk management, and the preparation of effort estimates and work package plans
  • Drawing on your experience, you will mentor junior and associate developers, share your expertise, and actively contribute to establishing robust development and review processes

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field, or equivalent vocational training
  • Demonstrable expertise in power electronics and power supply design is an absolute requirement for this position
  • You also have several years of experience in the development of analog electronics
  • You are distinguished by your in-depth knowledge of converter topologies, control methods, magnetic components, EMC/EMI, thermal design, derating concepts, and protection circuits
  • Furthermore, you have successfully managed hardware development projects throughout the entire product lifecycle—from requirements gathering through detailed design, integration, and verification to final approval
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools and modern laboratory measurement technology is second nature to you
  • Experience in aerospace, military, or high-reliability electronics—or in similarly regulated development environments—is particularly welcome
  • Ideally, you also have knowledge of relevant safety standards, environmental qualifications, and military standards, such as MIL-STD-882E, DO-254, DO-160, or DIN EN 61508
  • You have very good English skills for working in an international environment; knowledge of German is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work
