Project description:

Are you passionate about technology? So are we!
To strengthen our expert team at our customer in the defense and aerospace industry, we are looking for a Mission Systems Engineer (m/f/x) for a permanent position with K-tronik.
We look forward to getting to know you personally and to working together with passion and team spirit on exciting projects and forward-looking technologies.

Tasks:

- Develop and implement ISR systems, including EO/IR sensors, radar, data links, and mission computers, with a strong focus on system-of-systems integration across airborne and ground segments
- Design and optimize airborne and ground-based system architectures, ensuring seamless integration of heterogeneous subsystems (hardware, software, sensors, networks) and leveraging modern technologies
- Lead and support the integration of mission systems into aircraft platforms, including interface definition, system interconnection, and verification of end-to-end functionality
- Conduct lab, ground, and flight tests to ensure system performance and compliance with specifications, with particular emphasis on integrated system behavior and interoperability
- Ensure adherence to aviation and regulatory standards throughout the development lifecycle, specifically during system integration, qualification, and acceptance phases
- Implement and optimize real-time data transmission between airborne platforms and ground stations, validating integrated data flows, latency, and reliability across the full mission chain
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, both in the lab and on the aircraft, acting as a key interface between development teams during integration and troubleshooting activities

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in aviation systems, avionics, and software-driven mission systems, ideally with hands-on responsibility for system integration and validation
- Experience in integrating complex mission systems, including sensors, avionics, and communication systems, within airborne platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in both development and operational environments
- Willingness to be hands-on, from software debugging to hardware integration and flight testing
- Familiarity with systems engineering, aircraft certification, and avionics integration is a plus
