To strengthen our expert team at our customer in the defense and aerospace industry, we are looking for a Mission Systems Engineer (m/f/x) for a permanent position with K-tronik.

Tasks:
- Develop and implement ISR systems, including EO/IR sensors, radar, data links, and mission computers, with a strong focus on system-of-systems integration across airborne and ground segments
- Design and optimize airborne and ground-based system architectures, ensuring seamless integration of heterogeneous subsystems (hardware, software, sensors, networks) and leveraging modern technologies
- Lead and support the integration of mission systems into aircraft platforms, including interface definition, system interconnection, and verification of end-to-end functionality
- Conduct lab, ground, and flight tests to ensure system performance and compliance with specifications, with particular emphasis on integrated system behavior and interoperability
- Ensure adherence to aviation and regulatory standards throughout the development lifecycle, specifically during system integration, qualification, and acceptance phases
- Implement and optimize real-time data transmission between airborne platforms and ground stations, validating integrated data flows, latency, and reliability across the full mission chain
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, both in the lab and on the aircraft, acting as a key interface between development teams during integration and troubleshooting activities
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in aviation systems, avionics, and software-driven mission systems, ideally with hands-on responsibility for system integration and validation
- Experience in integrating complex mission systems, including sensors, avionics, and communication systems, within airborne platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in both development and operational environments
- Willingness to be hands-on, from software debugging to hardware integration and flight testing
- Familiarity with systems engineering, aircraft certification, and avionics integration is a plus
