Project description:
As Senior Development Engineer (m/w/x), you will be responsible for the whole image acquisition pipeline in the development of state-of-the-art teleoperation technology. Thus, you will be the technical expert for benchmarking and selecting suitable camera hardware and set-up.


Tasks:

  • Development of a camera system for teleoperated/autonomous vehicles, including testing, deployment and optimization
  • Collaboration with systems engineering teams to design the sensing strategies for driverless vehicle fleets
  • Development of camera profiles for different use cases/scenarios, e.g. overexposure, glare, night, rain
  • Ownership of the sensor test bench as well as all calibration processes and tools
  • Evaluation of novel imaging sensor technologies and their impact on the overall system performance
  • Selection and management of possible camera suppliers

Skills:

  • At least 4-5 years experience in developing camera hardware and/or firmware
  • Deep understanding of digital imaging systems and performance evaluation of such systems
  • Good Knowledge of camera-related SerDes architectures
  • Know-how in debugging of camera module components, e.g. optics, image sensor, ISP, interfaces like GMSL, FPDLink
  • Hands-on experience in developing and ensuring acceptance test or vehicle integration for cameras.
  • Experience with imaging test lab management, setup, and implementation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English skills
  • Hands-on mentality and a succesful track record of challenging development projects

a further big plus would be:

  • Experience with optical design and analysis tools, e.g. Zemax, LightTools, ANSYS SPEOS or similar
  • Know-how with data analysis tools and/or software development in Python, C, and C++
  • Good Knowledge of automotive communication architectures, e.g. CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet
