Project description:
As a System Safety Engineer, your responsbility is to support product and safety teams in developing a safety and reliability plan, the setup of dedicated safety tool chain, the definition of safety requirements on Aircraft level and system level as well as safety support during the architecture definition.


Tasks:

  • Development of a dedicated safety and reliability plan for new aerospace aircraft architectures
  • Setup of a dedicated set of safety tools to support the development plan
  • Definition of safety requirements of a central aircraft control system based on Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA)
  • Executing System Safety Assessments which includes the Preliminary System Safety Assessment (including Fault Tree Analysis, Common Cause Analysis)
  • Support in the definition and monitoring of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Support in the safety analysis of derived requirements

Skills:

  • Completed degree in aerospace engineering, computer scienece, electronic engineering or comparable
  • At least 4 years knowledge in aerospace system safety
  • System knowledge regarding aerospace systems (e.g. engine control, navigation systems, flight control system)
  • Sound knowledge of the methods of analysis of safety and reliability, such as FHA, EPR, FME(C)A, FMES, FTA, ETA and HEA
  • Experience with dedicated safety tools e.g. Windchill QS (Relex), Item ToolKit, Isograph (Fault Tree +)
  • Experience in the reliability prediction
  • Experience in Safety process ARP4761 and system development process ARP 4754
  • Experience with Microsoft office including skills in Visual Basic
  • Fluent English and German skills

also nice-to-have is:

  • System knowledge on aircraft level
  • Experience in SW or HW development of safety critical systems in accordance with the applicable norms and standards (ARP 4754, DO178, DO 254)
